  Ursprünglich wollte Katherine Nonne werden, aber ihre Mutter lehnte es ab. Sie musste zu Hause bleiben und der Familie helfen. Während des zweiten Weltkrieges arbeitete sie im "Departement Army". Katherine blieb unverheiratet, sie begegnete aber ihrer großen Liebe. Er war Oberst in der US-Navy. Leider wurde nichts aus der Romanze, Katherines Bruder legte sein Veto ein, denn er war gegen diese Heirat. Katherine verbrachte den Rest ihres Lebens damit, anderen Menschen zu helfen. Der Kirch spendete sie sehr viel, vor allem dem "Franziskaner-Orden" in Washington D.C. Katherine liebte es, Gedichte zu schreiben, mehrere davon wurden veröffentlicht und im Rundfunk wiedergegeben. Katherine starb in einem Altersheim. Zusammen mit ihrem Cousin Frank begann sie mit der Namens-Forschung der Weschler in den USA.
